At past 8:00pm in the evening, the Grand Mufti with Dar Al-ifta officers and the City Vice mayor Abdullah Andang officially announced that the Eid'l Fitr 1434 or the official end of the Ramadhan 1434 (Islamic calendar) will commence on August 9, 2013 because of the failure to see the moon from Dar Al-ifta's chapters in the Philippines.
